Rory Gallagher Wins Leinster Player of the Year

Some clever wags have commented that St.Brigid's star centre half forward Rory Gallagher was likely to play for Leinster before he was selected for Dublin following his success in winning the Leinster Football player of the Year Award announced recently. Rory, who plays all his football with the Russell park Club has had an outstanding season. With Brigid's he won the Dublin Senior Championship and then went on to win honours at Leinster level. He started with Brigid's 3 years ago as a full-time Juvenile coach and made a huge impression on the young players in the area as he coached in the local schools. He also ran a 6 week Summer Camp as St. Brigid's last year with the help of a dedicated band of coaches including Barry Cahill who has just returned from injury. His talents both as a place kicker and as a play maker have helped set him apart and watching him play is always a treat. In winning the AIB award he joined such luminaries as Martin Comerford from O'Loughlin Gaels, the Kilkenny Champions and Ben O'Connor from the Cork champions Newtownshandrums .
