August 2010 Clubnotes - Week 5 - Tue, 31 Aug 2010

A cracking weekend of Adult Champo Football with our Inter Footballers qualifying for the Junior A Champo Final after an extra time tussle with St Monica's. Our Junior B Footballers also dug deep to beat Parnells to reach their Champo Final. Both finals scheduled for Sun Sept 12th. Our Junior C Footballers went down to two late goals in their Champo Q-Final. Senior & Senior 2 Footballers had good wins over St Annes & Good Counsel. Senior Hurlers in Champo this Wed & Sat. On Wed they face Croabh Chairain at 6.45 in Russell Pk and Sat; St Judes at 6pm in Tymon North. Inter Hurlers face Trinity Gaels away on Sat at 6pm. Minor Footballers open their Champo campaign away to Cuala at 10.30 on Sun. Hard luck to the Junior Camogie team on their Champo Final defeat to Plunketts. Well done to Eoin Kennedy who advanced to the All-Ireland 60*30 Singles Final defeating Gavin Buggy. Best of luck to Eoin this Sat in the Final vs. Robbie McCarthy in Abbeylara. Congrats to Colleen Barrett, Sorcha Furlong, Elaine Kelly, Noelle Healy, Ailish McKenna & the Dublin Ladies Footballers on their All-Ireland Semi-Final victory over Laois. Well done to Eoin O?Malley & Luke Purtill who played for Dublin in the U14 Tony Forestall Competition. Its that time of the year again, All-Ireland Football Final Forecast Competition. August 2010 Clubnotes - Week 4 - Tue, 24 Aug 2010

Another historic day for the club when Deidre Murphy lifted the All-Ireland U16 Ladies Football Trophy in a cracking victory over Kerry. Congrats to players Deidre Murphy, Sophie Freeman, Sarah Hawkshaw and mentors Ken & Judy Murphy. Well done to the Junior Camogie team who reached the Junior A Final defeating Whitehall. Final vs Plunketts this Sat in Trinity Gaels at 11am. Hard luck to the Senior Camogie on their Champo Semi-Final defeat. Well done to Eoin Kennedy & Egin Jenson who advanced to the All-Ireland 60*30 Doubles Semi-Finals. Best of luck to Eoin this Sat in All-Ireland Singles Semi-Final vs. Gavin Buggy. Hard luck to Sean Murray, Barry Cahill, Paddy Andrews, Kevin Bonner & Dublin on their Semi-Final loss to Cork. Hard luck to Aodhan McEnerney & Daire Plunkett on their Semi-Final loss to Galway. A big week of football Champo ahead with 5 of our 6 adult teams still in contention. Our Senior 2 Footballers face Good Counsel on Fri in Kiltipper Rd at 7.30pm. Seniors face St Annes at 6pm St Finians Newcastle. Junior Cs face Wild Geese in Oldtown on Sun at 10.30. Inter & Junior B Footballers face St Monicas & Parnells in their Champo Semi-Finals at 4.30pm & 6pm in Balgriffin on Sun. Big support needed for all games. Club Lotto is currently on its summer break until Sept 2nd.

Senior Hurlers Champo game vs Croabh Chairan had to be abandoned due to the bad leg injury picked up by Pat Rohan. Speedy recovery to Pat. Inter Hurlers were just edged out by St Kevins after a great comeback. Junior Hurlers drew with Scoil Ui Chonaill. Senior Camogie open their Champo campaign tonight at 7.30pm in Marley Pk vs Ballinteer St Johns. Senior Hurlers face Crumlin in crucial league encounter this Wed at 7.15pm in Pearse Pk. Inter Hurlers face Parnells on Wed at 7.15pm in Russell Pk. Well done Barry, Paddy & Kevin on their win over Louth and the best of luck vs Tyrone at the weekend. Club Lotto takes place in The Roselawn Inn this Thursday with a Jackpot of E6800. Our deepest sympathies are extended to the Brennan family on their recent loss. Big week of Hurling Champo ahead with our Senior Hurlers facing Croabh Chairan this Fri in Russell Pk at 7.30pm. Inter Hurlers face Kevins in Dolphin Pk at 7.30pm. Junior Hurlers face Ballinteer on Thurs at 7.30 in Russell Pk. Congrats to Deidre Murphy who captained the Dublin Ladies U16 Footballers to Leinster Glory. Congrats to mentors Ken & Judy Murphy along with players Sophie Freeman & Sarah Hawkshaw. Congrats to Colleen Barrett, Shorca Furlong, Elaine Kelly, Noelle Healy & Ailish McKenna on their Leinster triumph over Kildare. Well done to Daire Plunkett & Aodhan McEnerney on their Leinster victory over Wexford; Daire had an immense game scoring 1-3. Well done Barry, Paddy & Kevin on their win over Armagh. Hard luck to Alan Nolan & Sean O'Sullivan & Daire on their loss to Antrim. Well done to our Senior Footballers who returned to AFL1 with their 12th straight league win over Sygne St. Inter & Junior B Footballers had good league wins while the Junior Cs drew. Big thanks to everyone who helped with the Inter county Camogie blitz last Sat. Club Lotto takes place in The Vineyard this Thursday with a Jackpot of E6600.
