January 2012 Clubnotes - Week 5 - Tue, 31 Jan 2012

St Brigids would like to extend our deepest sympathies to JP Costigan (Junior Hurler) and his family on the tragic loss of Martin this week. Well done to our U21 hurlers on their great win over Lucan in Champo Q-final. Membership for 2012 is now due and should be paid online or by using the traditional forms ASAP. Those who pay their membership ASAP will be automatically entered into a draw for an IPod Touch. Registration weekend is as follows: Feb 3rd, 7-8pm, Feb 4th, 9-12 and Feb 5th, 1-6pm. Juvenile camogie training from under 8's - upwards, continues every Tuesday from 7pm. Juvenile handball training for all ages, Wednesdays at 7.15. New players welcome. Loan contributions for our new state of the art grass pitch are still needed. Application forms on website. Congrats to Phil O Dywer and Bill Quane on receiving their Coiste na Sean Gael awards. Well done to everyone involved in organising a great night on Friday with the trophies and fabulous music. The club lotto is in the Vineyard this Thursday with the jackpot still E15,000. The Annual Club Mass will take place on Saturday February 11th at 8pm in Russell Park. Please keep dropping in your old mobile phones behind the club bar for new AED! January 2012 Clubnotes - Week 4 - Tue, 24 Jan 2012

St Brigids would like to extend our deepest sympathies to the family of Ciaran Carr and the members of Round Towers (C) on Ciaran's tragic passing this week. Membership for 2012 is now due for all members and should be paid via the club website ASAP. Those who pay their membership ASAP will be automatically entered in a draw for an IPod Touch. Juvenile Camogie training from under 8's - upwards, continues every Tuesday from 7pm. Juvenile handball training for all ages, Wednesdays at 7.15. Big Trad night with live music from the Dublin City Folk Band this Friday night. Entry 5 euro. Finger food, draw for premium tickets for Spring Series as well as the Sam Maguire, NHL League, Dublin SFC and U21 Leinster trophies will be present on the night! The Ticket book for Spring Series is behind the bar. Tickets must be prepaid, closing date for orders is this Wednesday at 10pm. Contributions loan scheme for our new state of the art grass pitch are still needed. Application forms on website. The club lotto resumes this Thursday in Russell Park, jackpot is still 15,000. Well done to Shane, Paddy (0-01), Sean (1-0), Barry, Declan and Gavin (who made his Dublin Senior debut) on their O'Byrne Cup win over UCD. Congrats must also go to our adult handball team who won the Dublin League in Croke Park against Portobello last weekend. The team consisted of Colm Devine, Noel Mulryan, Enda Timoney, Tomas Leen, Jim Leen and Tom Mulvey. Juvenile handball training for all ages, Wednesdays at 7.15. Well done also to Paul Winters, Karl Rodgers and Mark Kavanagh on their win with Dublin North Colleges on Sunday, 1-19 to 3-11 over Dublin South. Membership for 2012 is now due for all members and should be paid via the club website ASAP. Big Trad night with live music and Sam Maguire in the club on Jan 27th! More info to follow! January 2012 Clubnotes - Week 2 - Tue, 10 Jan 2012

A sincere thank you to the out-going executive for their time, dedication and hard-work throughout a hectic 2011. Best wishes to our new 2012 executive who were elected at Sunday's AGM, especially those taking on new roles for the first time. Well done to Barry, Declan, Sean, Shane, Gavin and Paddy on their win over Carlow in the O Byrne Cup. Adult championship regarding forms for both hurling and football are now available on the club website. Any adult player who wishes to play a lower grade of championship in 2012, MUST complete this form. Forms must be filled out correctly and left behind the club bar, addressed to Mary O Connor, before January 17th.

With the new season about to begin, new players at all ages and levels are always welcome to become a member of St Brigids. Members are reminded of the new GAA Handball show on TG4 on Monday evenings from 8.30 which runs for the next 4 weeks and features our own handball legend Eoin Kennedy.

The collection fund for our new state of the art grass pitch is slowly growing but we still new further contributions for the loan scheme. Please check the website for an application form. The club lotto and its committee are on a well deserved short break and resume business on 26th of January. The 2012 opening hours for our new club shop are; Friday 7pm - 8pm and Saturday; 10am to 11.30am. A reminder that the club bar and club hall are available for social functions of any size or requirement. Happy New Year to all our members, supporters and sponsors! Here?s to a healthy and prosperous 2012 for everyone associated with St Brigids! The New Year begins with our AGM this Sunday evening (Jan 8th) at 7pm in the club hall. The list of the proposed 2012 executive and motions are now posted in the clubhouse. It is important that as many members as possible are in attendance to set the foundations for a successful 2012. Thanks to everyone who helped host the 2011 Ladies Dubs Stars last week. It was a great day and added to our successful organisation of the male Dub Stars in 2011. Well done to our Brigids ladies who played on the day, as well as their male counterparts who played for the male Dub Stars on New Years Day. We have collected 240 old mobile phones and just need 10 more for our new AED. Old or broken mobile phones are accepted. The collection box is still behind the club bar.
