Club Notes from March April 24th to May 1st - Tue, 24 Apr 2007 A weekend of comebacks on the playing fields. Our U16 Footballers produced a great display to fight back against the wind in the 2nd half to win their Championship Final against St Maur's. Our Junior A Footballers fought back from 9 points down at half time to defeat St Sylvester's. Senior Footballers turned in an impressive performance over Round Towers in the Championship. Junior B & C Footballers also had good wins over Lucan & St Sylvester's. 75th year commemoration takes place this Friday where teams from the 1950's and 1960's come back to the club for night of reminiscence, craic agus ceoil. Everyone is welcome to join us in these celebrations. Several important hurling Championship games this weekend with the Junior A Hurlers facing Scoil Ui Chonaill at 11.0 & the Junior B Hurlers facing Civil Service at 12.30 on Sunday, both in Russell Pk. Senior Hurlers face St Vincents Away at 6.30pm on Saturday in the League. Minor Footballers face Erins Isle away on Sunday at 11.0 in the Championship. Minor B Footballers face Liffey Gaels away at 11.0 in the Championship. The club lotto jackpot of 15000 Euro was eventually won. Congrats to the winner. Jackpot is now 3200 with the draw taking place in the Roselawn Inn this Thursday. April 2007 Clubnotes - Week 3 - Tue, 17 Apr 2007 Fine Championship wins for the Minor A & Minor B Footballers over Round Towers & Na Fianna. Senior Hurlers defeated Naomh Mearnog. Junior A Hurlers fought back superbly to defeat St Thomas's. Good Cup wins for the Senior 1's over Thomas Davies, Senior 2's over Peregrines and Junior A's over Judes & James Gaels. U13 & U15 Hurlers also had fine wins over Kilmacud and Croabh Ciaran. Senior Hurlers face Buffer's Alley of Wexford in the Leinster Senior League this Wednesday at 8.15pm in Russell Pk. Several important games this weekend with the Senior Footballers facing Round Towers in Championship in Parnell Pk on Saturday at 5pm. The Minor Hurlers face Cuala in the Championship at 11am on Sunday morning in Russell Pk. The U16 Footballers face St Muars in their Championship Final this weekend. The Venue & Time are yet be known but will be posted on the website when available. Please note that the night for the 75th year commemoration has been moved to Friday April 27th. Club Lotto draw takes place this Thursday in The Vineyard & the Jackpot is still 15000 Euro. Dicey Reilly play the club bar this Friday Night. Marie Keating Foundation Fundraiser on this Saturday at 8pm in the club with the Garda Band providing the entertainment. Tickets available from the club bar or 087-243-1216. April 2007 Clubnotes - Week 2 - Tue, 10 Apr 2007 The night for the 75th year commemoration has been moved to Friday April 27th due to the Senior Football Championship 1st Round versus Round Towers taking place on Saturday April 21st. The commemoration will start at the very beginning - and will be inviting teams from the 1950's and 1960's back to the club for night of reminiscence, craic agus ceoil. Everyone is welcome to join us in these celebrations. Club Lotto draw takes place this Thursday in Russell Park & the Jackpot is still a massive 15000 Euro. Busy week of adult fixtures ahead with the Senior Hurlers playing O'Tooles tonight at 7.15pm in Russell Pk. Junior A Hurlers face Castleknock at 7.15pm in Porterstown this Wednesday while the Junior B Hurlers face Scoil Ui Chonail at 7.15pm in Russell Pk this Thursday. Senior Hurlers face Naomh Mearnog in the Senior League this Saturday at 5pm in Russell Pk. Both Junior sides are in Championship action this Sunday. Junior A's face Faughs at 11.0 in Tynom North while the Junior B's face Finbars at 11.0 in John Paul Park. April 2007 Clubnotes - Week 1 - Tue, 3 Apr 2007 Congrats to the U16 Footballers who produced a great performance to defeat St Finian's of Newcastle to reach the U16 Championship Final. Superb League win for the Senior Hurlers over Croabh Ciarain. Hard Luck to Eoin Kennedy who went down to Paul Brady in the 40 * 20 Handball All-Ireland Final. Fine wins for both Minor Footballers with the A's defeating Vincent's & the B's defeating Cuala & Finbarrs. Good Football Cup wins for the Senior 1's over St Marks, Intermediates over Finagllian's, Junior A's over Wanderers & the Junior C's over Ballyfermot. The Senior 2's drew with St Judes. As we celebrate our 75th year, we plan to commemorate this great milestone with a number of sporting and social events. Our next event will take place on Saturday 21st April whereby we starting at the very beginning - and inviting teams from the 1950's and 1960's back to the club for night of reminiscence, craic agus ceoil. Everyone is welcome to join us in these celebrations. More details will be available in the coming weeks on the website & notes.
