December 2007 Clubnotes - Week 3 - Tue, 18 Dec 2007

Last Friday saw our final 75th Anniversary Event of the Year. It was a another brilliant success with memories flooding back of previous years gone by. This Saturday sees our Minor Footballers face Louth Champions St Geardaldines in the Leinster Championship semi-final in Carlow. Throw-in is at 4pm or 5pm in Eire Og GAA Grounds just outside Carlow town. We are currently awaiting confirmation on the time. Please check the club website for directions. The Club Executive would like to take this opportunity to wish all everyone a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. A Big-thank to all those who have been involved with the Club over this past year, as players, mentors, volunteers and parents and we look forward to your support once again in 2008. The Junior Footballers Quiz Night was a massive success with over 50 teams taking part. Thank you to everyone who helped out & also the generous sponsors of prizes. 25's card games return every Thursday in the club bar from 9pm. Club Lotto Jackpot is E4000 this Thursday in Russell Pk. A big thank you to all who helped & contributed to the Lotto this year. Congrats to St Vincents on their Leinster Championship Success.

Congrats to Martin Cahill, Ken Darcy & Kevin Bonner on their Blue-star awards. U21 Footballers face Ballymun this Saturday at 2pm in Pairc Cicean in their Championship Semi-Final. Please check the website before travelling as the game was postponed last week due to the Senior Play-off games. The Junior Footballers Quiz takes place this Thursday from 9pm. Definitely not to be missed with exceptional prizes on offer. The Final Anniversary Celebratory event of the year takes place this Friday from 8.30pm marking the achievements of teams from the 90's right up to the present day. Good win for the Senior 2 Footballers over St Maurs in the League. The Kids Xmas Party was a huge success & a big thank you to everything that helped out. A large crowd attended The Juvenile Presentation's on Saturday evening with Damien Hayes in attendance. Damien gave a great speech & a big thank you to Damien for attending. Minor Footballers Leinster semi-final will take place on Saturday, December 22nd in Carlow. 25's card games return every Thursday in the club bar from 9pm. Congrats to the Ladies Minor Footballers who won the Championship in empathic style on Sunday against Ballinteer. Minor Footballers advanced to the Leinster Semi-Finals with a win over Eire-Og. The semi-final will take place on Saturday, December 22nd in Carlow. U21 Footballers Championship Semi-Final scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed due to Ballymun's involvement in the Senior League Play-offs. Senior 2 Footballers also have a crucial league game tonight at 7.45pm in Russell Pk vs St Maurs. Support your club. Galway Hurler Damien Hayes will be in the club this Saturday evening from 7.30pm for the Juvenile Prize giving. Kids Xmas Party takes place this Sunday from 2.30pm in the main hall. Final 75th. Anniversary Celebratory event of the year takes place on Friday December 14th marking the achievements of teams from the 90's right up to the present day. The Junior A Footballers will be holding a fundraising Quiz on Thursday December 13th. 25's card games return every Thursday in the club bar from 9pm. Club Lotto Jackpot is E3600 this Thursday in The Vineyard. Our deepest sympathies to the Bonnar Family on their recent loss.
