April 2008 Clubnotes - Week 5 - Tue, 29 Apr 2008

The Club Race Day was a major success and people are already looking forward to next years. A big thank-you to Breda Cowen for her superb effort. The club also received great funding news from Fingal County Council; ?50k has been allocated to the new dressing rooms fund. Hard Luck to the U14 Girls Footballers who reached the Feile Final only to go down to hosts Ballyboden. The Senior Hurlers also suffered a heart breaking defeat after a valiant effort against Kilmacud Crokes. Well done to the Junior A Footballers who progressed to the Sheridan Cup Semi-Finals while the Inter 1's beat Lusk. Senior Camogie had a fine league win over Ballyboden in the League. Several adult game changes this week. The Junior B Hurlers have moved their league game vs Cuala to Thursday at 9pm in Russell Pk while the Junior A Hurlers have moved their game vs Castleknock to next Tuesday. The Senior Footballers face Clontarf in Parnell Pk on Tuesday May 6th as well. Senior Hurlers face St Vincents at 6pm in Russell Pk this Saturday. Club Lotto takes place this Thursday in Russell Pk with a Jackpot of 6400.

April 2008 Clubnotes - Week 4 - Tue, 22 Apr 2008

We're off to the races this Wednesday at the Punchestown Festival. For people taking the bus to the race-course, it will depart Russell Pk at 10.45am. Tickets can still be purchased from Breda Cowen @ 087-057-9516. Plenty of action this week, Senior Camogie face Ballyboden at 6.45 in Russell Pk while the U14 Hurlers face Castleknock at 7.15pm in Porterstown, both tonight. Junior A Footballers play Plunketts at 7pm in Russell Pk on Thursday. Senior Hurlers face Kilmacud this Saturday at 5pm in O'Toole Pk in their Championship opener. Minor A Footballers play Plunketts on Sunday at 11 in Martin Savage Pk. It was a good week on the playing fields with the Senior Footballers beating Trinity Gaels, both Inter sides had two league wins while the Junior A & B Footballers had wins. Feile Hurlers had a good performance on Saturday defeating Castleknock. Senior Camogie had a fine league win over St Judes. Dublin Minor Hurlers match versus Carlow was called off as Carlow refused to travel. This game may be re-fixed so please check club website later this week for confirmation. Club Lotto takes place this Thursday in The Roselawn Inn with a Jackpot of 6200.

April 2008 Clubnotes - Week 3 - Tue, 15 Apr 2008

A massive thank you to everyone who helped organise a brilliant day for the Magaret Doyle tribute. Many thanks to everyone who contributed as well. The Punchestown Festival Race Day takes place next week so don't be late booking your tickets. Taking place on Wednesday April 23rd, this will help finance Phase 2 of our development. Junior A Hurlers drew with Kilmacud while the Junior B Hurlers had a good away win against Scoil Ui Chonail. Plenty of Adult Football action this week in Russell Pk with the Senior 2's Footballers facing Erin's Isle & Inter 1 Footballers facing Ballymun on Wednesday at 6.45pm. Junior B's face Good Counsel at 6.45pm on Thursday & Junior A's face Park Rangers at 7pm on Friday. Senior 1 & 2 Footballers are in League action on Saturday at 6.30pm while the Inter 2 Footballers face St Marys at 5pm. Support your club. Best of Luck to Jamie Winters, Daire Plunkett, Cathal Doyle & the Dublin Minor Hurlers this Sunday vs Carlow in the Leinster Championship in Parnell Pk. This game may be part of a double bill with the Senior Footballers vs Meath. Please check club website later this week for confirmation. April 2008 Clubnotes - Week 2 - Tue, 8 Apr 2008

Congrats to the Senior Camogie team who defeated St Judes to win the Open Cup Final. Well done to Gerry McEntee, Cian Mullins, Sean Murray, Philip Carroll, Alan McCarrick, Gavin McIntyre and the Dublin Minor Footballers who beat Kildare on Saturday. Hard Luck to the Feile Hurlers who lost out to Ballyboden by a point.Congrats to Paddy Andrews who made his senior debut for Dublin versus Roscommon. Senior 1 Footballers drew with Ballymun while the Senior 2's lost by a point to Parnells. Inter 1 Footballers lost to Crumlin while the Inter 2's beat Ballymun. Junior 1's beat St Brendan's while the Junior 2's lost out to Castleknock. Hard Luck to Eoin Kennedy & Egin Jenson who bowed out of the 40 by 20 All-Ireland doubles at the Semi-Final stage. Best of Luck to Jamie Winters, Daire Plunkett, Cathal Doyle & the Dublin Minor Hurlers as they open their Leinster campaign verus Ofally this Sunday in Tullamore. Time TBC so please check website. Please note players who have not paid their membership by the end of March will not be eligible to put their name down in the ticket book for any future Dublin Games. Any players who have not paid their membership will not be allowed play this weekend. Easter Camp was a big success. Special Thanks to John Ryan & everyone who helped out. Hard Luck to Daire Plunkett, Aodhan McEnerney, Jamie Winters & the Dublin Colleges Hurlers who were edged out by Thurles. Eoin Kennedy was edged out in the Semi-Final's of the All-Ireland 40 by 20. U14 Footballers made it 3/3 to guarantee at home semi-final in Feile. All Adult Football teams had Cup wins while the Junior B Hurlers had a fine win against Croabh Ciaran's. Senior Camogie had a fine win over Oliver Plunketts. Junior A Hurlers face Faughs at 8.15pm in Russell Pk this Wednesday in the League. Full round of adult football league games this weekend with 4 games taking place this Saturday evening at 5.30pm (3 at home) & 2 on Sunday at 3pm.
