August 2010 Clubnotes - Week 5 - Wed, 1 Sep 2010

A cracking weekend of Adult Champo Football with our Inter Footballers qualifying for the Junior A Champo Final after an extra time tussle with St Monica's. Our Junior B Footballers also dug deep to beat Parnells to reach their Champo Final. Both finals scheduled for Sun Sept 12th. Our Junior C Footballers went down to two late goals in their Champo Q-Final. Senior & Senior 2 Footballers had good wins over St Annes & Good Counsel. Senior Hurlers in Champo this Wed & Sat. On Wed they face Croabh Chairain at 6.45 in Russell Pk and Sat; St Judes at 6pm in Tymon North. Inter Hurlers face Trinity Gaels away on Sat at 6pm. Minor Footballers open their Champo campaign away to Cuala at 10.30 on Sun. Hard luck to the Junior Camogie team on their Champo Final defeat to Plunketts. Well done to Eoin Kennedy who advanced to the All-Ireland 60*30 Singles Final defeating Gavin Buggy. Best of luck to Eoin this Sat in the Final vs. Robbie McCarthy in Abbeylara. Congrats to Colleen Barrett, Sorcha Furlong, Elaine Kelly, Noelle Healy, Ailish McKenna & the Dublin Ladies Footballers on their All-Ireland Semi-Final victory over Laois. Well done to Eoin O?Malley & Luke Purtill who played for Dublin in the U14 Tony Forestall Competition. Its that time of the year again, All-Ireland Football Final Forecast Competition. Anyone who feels they can fill or partially fill a Forecast card please contact John Fleming.

August 2010 Clubnotes - Week 4 - Tue, 24 Aug 2010

Another historic day for the club when Deidre Murphy lifted the All-Ireland U16 Ladies Football Trophy in a cracking victory over Kerry. Congrats to players Deidre Murphy, Sophie Freeman, Sarah Hawkshaw and mentors Ken & Judy Murphy. Well done to the Junior Camogie team who reached the Junior A Final defeating Whitehall. Final vs Plunketts this Sat in Trinity Gaels at 11am. Hard luck to the Senior Camogie on their Champo Semi-Final defeat. Well done to Eoin Kennedy & Egin Jenson who advanced to the All-Ireland 60*30 Doubles Semi-Finals. Best of luck to Eoin this Sat in All-Ireland Singles Semi-Final vs. Gavin Buggy. Hard luck to Sean Murray, Barry Cahill, Paddy Andrews, Kevin Bonner & Dublin on their Semi-Final loss to Cork. Hard luck to Aodhan McEnerney & Daire Plunkett on their Semi-Final loss to Galway. A big week of football Champo ahead with 5 of our 6 adult teams still in contention. Our Senior 2 Footballers face Good Counsel on Fri in Kiltipper Rd at 7.30pm. Seniors face St Annes at 6pm St Finians Newcastle. Junior Cs face Wild Geese in Oldtown on Sun at 10.30. Inter & Junior B Footballers face St Monicas & Parnells in their Champo Semi-Finals at 4.30pm & 6pm in Balgriffin on Sun. Big support needed for all games. Club Lotto is currently on its summer break until Sept 2nd.
