March 2010 Clubnotes - Week 5 - Tue, 30 Mar 2010

Club Easter camp takes place from Tues April 6th ? Fri April 9th from 10am ? 2pm. Contact John Ryan (0879047300) to book. Special club night will take place on Wed April 21 in Crowne Plaza Hotel Blanchardstown Centre. The club is developing a strategy for the coming years to get our Juvenile section back blossoming. Among the guest speakers on the night are Billy Morgan (Nemo Rangers), Paul McGettigan (Corofin), Padraig McDonald (Kilmacud Crokes) & John McEntee (Crossmaglen Rangers). All members are urged to attend. Best of luck to Sean Murray, Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins, Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U21 Footballers this Sun in the Leinster Final vs. Westmeath in Parnell Pk. Minor Hurlers, Senior & Junior A?s Footballers had good league win?s. Inter & Junior B Footballers drew while the Junior C?s lost narrowly. Inter Hurlers face Fingallians this Wed at 8.15 in Russell Pk. Senior 2 footballers face Round Towers at 9.15 on Thurs in Russell Pk. Special thanks to Tesco for allowing our U14 Feile team bag pack at the weekend. Hard luck to Eoin Kennedy who lost out to Paul Brady in the 40*20 Semi-Finals. Our deepest sympathies are extended to the Mullally & Kelly family on their recent loss. Club Lotto takes place in The Vineyard this Thursday with a Jackpot of E15000.

Sports Quiz fundraiser for the Juvenile section takes place this Sat at 9pm in Russell Pk. The highly anticipated fight night was a huge success. There was a huge turnout with Plunketts winning 7-4 on the night. Special thanks to Bren Galvin, Willie Bourke & Seaghan Kearney on their superb organisation of the event. Well done to Sean Murray, Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins, Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U21 Footballers on the Leinster Semi-Final win over Carlow. Well done to Tadhg Branagan, Oisin Finnerty, Dylan Byrne, Jack O Neil who were selected to represent Dublin at inter county handball. Special mentor's night will take place on Wed April 21st. Junior 1s face St Marys at 12 in Saggart. Junior 3s face Finbars at 12 in John Paul Pk. Junior 6s face Lucan at 3 in Russell Pk. Minor Hurlers face Commercials at 11 in Russell Pk. The highly anticipated fight night takes place this Tuesday. A very limited amount of tickets will be available on the night. Admission to club bar or hall will be by ticket only. Doors open at 6.30pm with the first fight commencing at 8pm. Best of luck to Sean Murray, Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins, Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U21 Footballers in the Leinster Semi-Final vs Carlow on Wed in Dr Cullen Pk at 4pm. Well done to Eoin Kennedy who advanced to the All-Ireland 40 * 20 Handball Semi-Finals. Sports Quiz fundraiser for the Juvenile section takes place on Sat March 27th at 9pm in Russell Pk. Special mentor?s night will take place on Wed April 21st. There will be several special guests in attendance. Senior Footballers, Inter Footballers & Junior 1 Footballers had good league wins over St Marks, St Judes & Nh Olaf. Senior Hurlers open their league campaign this Sun vs Lucan at 11 in the 12th lock. This game may be moved to Mon night so check the website before travelling. Inter Hurlers face Craobh Charain at 11 in Clonshuagh while the Junior?s face Scoil Ui Chonail at 3 in Clontarf Rd. Club Lotto takes place in Russell Pk this Thursday with a Jackpot of E15000.

Tickets for the highly anticipated fight night vs Plunketts on March 16th are selling fast. Make sure you get your ticket early this week. Call Willie on 087-645-9571. Senior Hurlers captured the AHL 2 league title in commanding style beating Na Fianna. Well done to all and the best of luck in AHL1. Well to Sean Murray, Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins, Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U21 Footballers on their hard earned victory over Louth. Well done to Sherry Mannion & the Dublin Camogie team who beat Wexford. Another great win for the Dublin Footballers with Kevin Bonner playing very well. Dublin Ladies Footballers beat Kerry with Elaine Kelly, Colleen Barrett, Shorca Furlong, Noelle Healy, Ailish McKenna & Katie Murphy all featuring. Best of luck to Eoin Kennedy in his All-Ireland Q-Final this Wed. Plenty of league action this Sun with our Senior Footballers facing St Marks at 10.30 in Russell Pk. Senior 2's face Naomh Mearnog at 10.30 in Portmarnock. Inters face St Judes at 10.30 in Russell Pk. Junior 1's face Nh Olaf & Junior 3s' face Parnells at 12 on Sun in Russell. Senior Hurlers League Final vs. Na Fianna takes place this Wed at 7.30pm in Russell Pk. Big support needed. The club presentation night was a massive success. Special thanks to all who helped out. Loads of photos on the club website. Congrats to Paddy Andrews who captained DCU to Sigerson Cup victory. Hard luck to Colm Carr, Colin Freeman, Cian Mullins and Alan McCarrick(Maynooth) who lost out to DCU in the semi-final. Hard luck to Sean Murray who lost out with Trinity in the Trench Cup Final. Best of luck to Sean Murray , Gavin McIntyre, Cian Mullins, Alan McCarrick and the Dublin U21 Footballers vs Louth in Dundalk in the Leinster Champo on Sat. Hard luck to Eoin Kennedy who lost out to Robbie McCarthy in the Leinster 40 * 20 Handball Final. Sports Quiz fundraiser for the Juvenile section takes place on Sat March 27th in Russell Pk. Tickets will be available this week for the highly anticipated fight night in the club on March 16th. Our Senior 1 & 2 teams enjoyed a great league tussle on Sun morning with the Senior 1?s edging it by 3 points. Inter & Junior B Footballers had a good wins over Lusk & St Maurs while the Jun A?s game vs. Annes was off. Minor hurlers had a good win over St Marks.
