June 2011 Clubnotes - Week 3 - Tue, 28 Jun 2011

A very sad week for the club with the passing of Yvonne Campbell; wife of Dave and mother to James, Sean & Liam. Our deepest sympathies are extended to the family. Senior Footballers league game vs Sylvester?s scheduled for this Wed has been moved to Tues at 7.30 in Broomfield. Congrats to Paul Winters & the Dublin Minor Hurlers on reaching the Leinster Final. Also congrats to Daire Plunkett & Dublin U21 Hurlers on reaching the Leinster Final. Well done to Barry, Sean, Declan & Paddy on their win over Kildare. Best of luck to Daire, Alan & Paul Winters in their Leinster Finals in Croke Pk on Sun. Minor Footballers beat Naomh Barrog in League. Senior Footballers fundraising night featuring the Irish Trad Band ?The Players Brigade? on Fri July 8th. Music starts at 9pm. Tickets E10 and big raffle on the night. Framed signed dubs jersey and many more spot prizes. Summer Camp dates are as follows: July 18th - 22nd, August 15th - 19th & August 22nd - 25th (4 days). Eoin Kennedy cemented his legend status in the handball game winning his 25th All-Ireland Senior Title. Eoin & Egin Jenson won 60*30 All-Ireland Hardball Doubles Title in a cracking final. The annual club Mini-Leagues were a huge success with over 450 kids taking part. Special thanks to everyone who helped organise such a successful event. The annual Julie Long Memorial Tournament was a great success. Jun A Footballers progressed in Champo beating Starlights and also drawing with Boden in League. Inter Footballers beat TSS in Champo and drew with Garda in League. Jun C Footballers were just edged out by Boden in Champo. Senior Footballers beat Thomas Davis in League. Senior 2?s drew with Naomh Mearnog. U13A Footballers Hurlers stay on course for promotion to Div1 defeating Setanta & Erins Isle. Well done to Daire & Alan on their fantastic win over Galway. Best of luck to Daire vs Offaly in the Leinster U21 Semi-Final in Parnell on Thurs. Best of luck to Paul Winters & the Dublin Minor Hurlers vs Westmeath on Sat in Parnell. Best of luck to Barry, Sean, Paddy & Declan vs Kildare this Sun in Croke Pk. Senior Hurlers have 2 crucial league games this week. They face Faughs on Wed at 7.30 in Russell Pk and Na Fianna in Mobhi Rd at 6.30 on Sat. Club Lotto takes place in The Vineyard this Thurs with a Jackpot of E14200.

St Brigids GAA sends its sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Brian Lenihan T.D. Brian was a great supporter of the club and his support and great work on behalf of the club will always be remembered and appreciated by all club members. Hard luck to Ken Nyhan & the Dublin U14 Girls who lost out to Cork in their All-Ireland Football Final. Well done to our respresentatives Aoibheann Lynch, Katie Nyhan, Ann-Marie Troy & Niamh O'Neill. The annual club Mini-Leagues take place this week from Mon June 13th to Sat June 18th. Fixtures and teams available from www.stbrigidsgaa.com. An important reminder that there is no training room at all before 9pm in Russell park Monday to Thursday. Club family day takes place all day Sat with the mini leagues finals on also. A great day in store. The club is organising a bus to Tullamore for Dublin's Champo Semi-Final vs Galway on Sat. The bus is E15 return. Contact Willie Bourke on 087-645-9571 or put your name on the bus list in the bar. Senior 1's face Davis on Wed at 7.30 in Russell Pk. Senior 2's face Fingallians on Wed at 7.30 in Russell Pk. Junior B Footballers face Lucan away in Champo on Thurs at 7.30. Jun C Footballers face Boden in Champo on Thurs at 7.30 in Russell Pk. Big support needed for all games this week. Hard luck to Jack Kelly, Dabhach Dineen & Aodhran and the Dublin Juniors on their loss to Kildare. Best of luck to all students who commence their Junior & Leaving Cert.
