St Brigid?s Vs O?Toole?s U13 Footballers - Fri, 7 Mar 2003

2003_0223_003559aa.jpg (42753 bytes)

In what can only be described as very inclement weather This u/i14 match started in Pairc O?Toole Brigids? opened the scoring with a fine point which was later dis-allowed the play continued and after ten minutes a great effort from Joe Jordan ended up in the back of the OTooles net. The play for the remaining 20 minutes was all in the O Tooles end of the field. But just before half time a point from Gerry Gallagher put Brigids ahead at the interval. 1 ? 1 to no score.

At the start of the second half O?Tooles opened their scoring with a point and the match became more balanced as the second half wore on in what was a very tightly marked encounter. O?Tooles went on to gain a penalty chance but failed to convert. Despite many scoring opportunities Brigids failed to register a score and O?Tooles went on to score a further 3 points to draw the match While St Brigids owned the Sliothar for about 80% of the play they failed to capitalise on this and great performances from the Brigids backline kept O?Tooles from snatching what would have been an unjust victory.

Best for Brigids were Joe Jordan as well as a magnificent performance from Aodhain McEnerney. They were strongly supported by great play from David Dempsey and James Campbell in fact there were great individual performances from all involved. The game ended all square at 1-1 to 0-4 at full time.
