The Saints quickly took the game to Castleknock and secured a vital goal in the opening minutes of play. Castleknock were constantly on the chase displaying excellent skills and determination in all sections of the filed during the opening half. Thanks to the great defence of Paul Winters, Ciaran O'Sullivan Ben Griffith, Adam Farrell and Ciaran Gaule and Liam Hawkes Castleknock failed to score in the first half. The second half saw a more determined Castleknock side take to the field, and managed an early second-half goal that looked to put them back into the contest. Brigid's were not about to let their lead slip and managed three more points from the stick of Paul Winters, Aaron O'Carolan and Shane McCarthy. Attempts from Ronan Fennell and Steven Somani were stopped by a skilful Castleknock half-back line.
