St Brigid's dominated this game from the throw in.  It was truly a team effort. The game was played in very windy conditions in St Anne's, Bothair na Breina  Tallaght  on Sunday last. St Brigid's settled early and were the first to score.  An early goal by Claire McGoldrick gave an indication of what was to follow. The girls from Foxrock made valiant efforts but were out played in all positions on the field. In the first half Brigid's scored five more points with the finishing touch by Laura Winters who found the net which put Brigid's half time score at 2-5 to Fox rock 3 points.,

St Brigid's had lots of possession in the first half combined with scoring chances, it was one of those evenings when every girl played to her best, teamwork was good, passing was good and kicking was accurate.

Foxrock got off to a good start in the second half however they could not break through  St Brigid's backline all of whom performed well. They only managed to score one point in the entire second half. St Brigid's players kept their concentration and focus and went ahead again by goals from Caroline Brogan and Roisin Kane and points from  Sarah Fay, Anita O'Brien, Caroline Brogan and Roisin Kane.

Team Captain Catherine Irwin said afterwards, it was a real team effort  everyone played brilliantly.? She expressed her thanks to mentors Tony Hegarty, Mary O'Connor, and Michael Grogan for all their hard work encouragement and support. Mary O'Connor said as a mentor she was proud of everyone, of all 20 girls on the panel played mighty.

Lorna McCarrick said that she was nervous at first but when the scores started to come she felt more comfortable and said the game was not the toughest of all the matches played in the competition.  The feeling of the entire team was summed up by Laura Winters who said when I got the goal I couldn't believe it. I am absolutely delighted and thrilled to have won a County Medal.

The win was celebrated in the Clubhouse with refreshments and goodies. A long line of well wishes, family and friends of all the team lined up for photographs with the Cup and worthy champions. Memories are made of this!
