Scoil Bhride Girls claim first ever Schools Title - Sat, 18 Dec 2004 Allianz- Cumann na mBunscol Football finals, Croke Park. Corn Comhar Linn Scoil Bhride Girls NS, Blanchardstown 3-8 Scoil Croi Ro Naofa, Killinarden 1-0 In the Corn Comhar Linn final the Caffrey sisters were influential in Scoil Bhride's 3-8 to 1-0 victory over Scoil Croi Ro Naofa, Killinarden. Aoife Caffrey scored the clinching third goal of the game, while her sister Leah was steady as a rock in the corner-back position. The Blanchardstown girls put in a superb performance from start to finish, with two goal hero Sophie Freeman and the outstanding Ebun Oladeru both shining on the big stage. Scoil Croi Ro Naofa were admittedly outclassed in the first-half and went in at the break trailing 2-4 to 0-0, but the Killinarden girls can be proud of their gutsy second-half performance and they probably deserved more than the 1-0 total they managed. Thomas Forde who manages the Brigid's side with colleague Bernie Dunne said he was 'absolutely thrilled' with the win, and added that the key to his team's success was their ability to do the simple things right all year long.
