Ladies U13 Footballers vs Cuala in League - Thu, 26 May 2005 St Brigid's 3-8 Cuala 1-1 On a wet Sunday evening at Tom Russell Park, the girls of St Brigid's put up a strong performance against the visitors from Cuala, winning comfortably by a margin of 13 points. The Saints established their dominance early in the 1st half, with points from Michelle O?Reilly and Laura Winters. Caroline Brogan's goal after 20 minutes of play gave an added boost to the Brigid's girls. Sarah Fay making a welcome return after a rest from injury sunk another goal at the 29th minute. Just before the half-time whistle, the girls from Cuala managed to get past Lorna McCarrick in goal, for the first of only 2 times in the match, when they scored a goal. The half-time score saw Brigid's ahead by 2-6 to 1-0. The 2nd half saw the Saints maintain their 1st half dominance, with the back-line seeing off a number of determined attacks from the Cuala visitors. Two further points from Caroline Brogan and a second goal from Sarah Fay helped put the Saints further ahead, with Cuala coming back with a last-minute goal. Overall, a great team performance from the Saints, one to make their mentors, Gerry Twomey and Gerry McCarrick, look forward to future clashes.
