U12 Ladies Footballers defeat Oliver Plunketts in Championship - Wed, 15 Jun 2005

St Brigid's 3-9  Oliver Plunkets Eoghan Ruadh 0-1

The St Brigid's Ladies under 12 team took to the field for the 2nd round of their Championship competition last weekend. Conditions were reasonable in Russell Park and Brigid's were on the attack from the whistle. They completely dominated this half with a devastating display of flowing football. The girls showed some great team work and showed great support for each other. And the result was 3 super goals from A King, Marie Hegarty and Shauna Hinkson to put Brigid's in a very comfortable lead at the end of this half.

Second half, Brigid's continued to dominate. We saw points from O Smartt, S Scullion and D Murphy. Brigid's were on fire and gave Plunkets very little chance to come back. We saw some great defending from the russell park side. Further points from M Hegarty, S Hinkson and K McMahon sealed the deal for the home side. And although Plunkets put up some resisistance in this half, Brigid's kept the pressure on and finished up easy winners in the end.
