Senior Camogie draw with Crumlin in Championship 1st Round - Wed, 20 Jul 2005

1st Round Senior A Championship

St Brigids 4-6 Crumlin 3-9

Brigids had home advantage for their first Senior A Championship match in the club?s history.  Crumlin were the first to settle with two points within the first 5 minutes.  However, this lead was short-lived with Christine Norton scoring a cracking long-range goal.  Both teams matched score for score for the next 10 minutes.  However Brigids stepped it up a gear for the final 10 minutes of the first half.  Solid performances in the back line and midfield gave the forwards lots of possession, which resulted in fine scores by Thelma O'Mahoney, Chirstine Norton and Trish Bruen.  Brigids lead at half time by 4 goals and 3 points to 1 goal and 4 points.

At the start of the second half Crumlin made a number of positional changes, which lead to a goal and a point without reply.  Orla Teeling then settled the Brigids side with a sweet strike off the ground to score a point.  Crumlin were then to take the lead scoring a further goal and 4 points.  Brigids dug deep and scored 2 further points from Thelma O'Mahoney to draw the match in the dying minutes. Well done to all the girls and management John Peake and Keith O'Neill.
