Improving Junior D Footballers defeat Naomh Barrog in League Clash - Wed, 15 Mar 2006

St Brigids 0-9 Naomh Barrog 1-4

Donal Smyth's charges are steadily improving and proved this against an experienced Naomh Barrog outfit. Andy Kavanagh, Warren Lynam and Gerry Hughes provided the platform for a powerful team performance. This team is beginning to gel as a unit & with a consistant amount of games guarenteed for the year, confidence is sure to be at a high after two opening wins against St Peregrines & Naomh Barrog.

Andy Kavanagh and Stephen dominated the midfield area with the ever present threat of Noel Dooher proving a thorn in the Naomh Barrog side. Dooher opening the scoring with a trade mark overhead kick from thirty yards out. Eoin Gahan added to the St Brigids tally with a superb point from the left wing. Andy Kavanagh added two further points to leave St Brigids three points up at the break.

St Brigids opened the second as the finished the first with Noel Dooher adding his second point from close range. Pat Keily added to his solid display in the full forward with a beautifully taken point from an acute angle.  Bobby Kilkenny's workrate didn't go unoticed as he setup several scores for his forwards & midfielders. Naomh Barrog fought back at the end but it was all in vain as the lads steely determination got them through to the end. Well done to the lads & keep up the good work.

St Brigids: Alan Keane, Warren Lynam, Declan Hanley, Ed McGoldrick, Ger Hughes , Keith Coleman, Connal Moore, Andy Kavanagh, Stephen Dunning, Eoin Gahan, David Nugent, Dan McDermot, Bobby Kilkenny, Noel Dooher, Pat Keily

Scorers: Andy Kavanagh 0-4, Noel Dooher 0-2, Pat Keily, Eoin Gahan 0-1 each

Subs: Keith O'Neill for Pat Keily, Donal Fahy for Dan McDermott, David Smyth for Bobby Kilkenny

Half Time: St Brigids 0-3 Naomh Barrog 0-1
