U14 Feile Hurlers Produce a Brilliant String of Performances to win the Dublin Feile - Thu, 18 May 2006

Well done to the U14 Feile Hurlers who produced a brilliant string of performances to win the Dublin Feile Final. Day one of the Feile was played in Russell Park on Friday evening. St Brigids weren't involved but the other four teams in the group played. St Kevins produced a stunning performance to leave the hosts sleepless over night.

The lads were in a tough group which consisted of Ballyboden St Enda's, St Oliver Plunketts, St Kevins & St Maurs but didn't stand back from the challenge & under the guidance of Phelim, Eammon and Stress went unbeaten through all four games. This meant that the lads had home advantage on Sunday morning for the Feile semi-final versus Naomh Mearnog. In very wet conditions, the lads battled through the semi-final to reach Parnell Park on Sunday afternoon where they would meet the hard-hitting St Kevins. No quarter was given in the Final. Both sides all out for glory. St Brigid played over 35 minutes of the game with 14 men but secured the Title with a well deserved victory on a scoreline of 3-2 to 2-0. Donal Maher accepted the Cup on behalf of the team. The lads recieved a garda escort through Blanchardstown & Castleknock. A great party was had by all in Russell Park well into the night.
