Junior B Footballers Advance to Stacey Cup Final defeating Bank Of Ireland - Tue, 14 Nov 2006 St Brigids 2-14 Bank Of Ireland 1-7
A blistering 10-minute spell at the beginning of the second half proved to be all decisive in Sunday morning's Stacey Cup Semi-Final in Ringsend. Early first half points from Mossie Curran, Gordon Cribbon and Paddy Mc Avenue had left the visitors in the ascendancy, leading 0-8 to 0-6 at the break. However, two clinically taken goals from the energetic Colm Doyle and the every potent Paul Witty swung the tie in Brigid's favour. Further scores from Dave O'Connor and Witty, coupled with another solid defensive performance, saw the Russell Park outfit ease home comfortably, on a score line of 2-14 to 1-7. Noel Cassidy's men will face either local neighbours St Oliver Plunketts or Fingal Ravens in the Cup Final. St Brigid's: S.Moore, T.Hughes, J.Duffy, N.Ryan, C.O'Sullivan, J.Twomey, E.O'Sullivan, C.Brennan, K.Bonfil, M.Curran (0-2), G.Cribbon (0-1), P.McAvenue (0-3), P.Witty (1-3), W.Corbett, D.O'Connor (0-4).
