Ladies Intermediate Footballers defeat Lucan in one sided Champo Game - Thu, 24 May 2007

Lucan Sarsfields 0-5 St Brigids 3-14

St Brigids Senior Ladies bounced back from defeat to Clontarf last week to beat Lucan Sarfields in the second round of the Championship. The girls were fired up from the very beginning and didn?t give Lucan a chance to get into the game.

Early scores from Aimee Molloy and Paula Bruen settled the Brigids nerves and it was all out attack from then on. Alison Kelly and Brid Leahy did not let anything through the defence and Lucan were kept to scoring just two points in the first half.

The Barrett sisters, Colleen and Shona, worked brilliantly together in the half forward line creating and taking their scores while Noelle Healy made some excellent runs from midfield throughout the game. The high tempo of the game carried on right through the second half and goals from Rose Holland, Shona Barrett and Noelle Healy finished off the match in Brigids favour. Brigids must now overcome Ballinteer St Johns and St Marks next Monday and Wednesday in order to progress in the Championship. Best of luck girls!
