U14 Camogie Crowned Champs With Victory Over Lucan Sarsfields in Final - Thu, 25 Oct 2007

St Brigid's Under 14 team camogie team had a fantastic win over Lucan Sarsfield in the Under 14 B Championship final in Craobh Chiaráin on Saturday. Brigids got off to a brilliant start and totally dominated the first half of the match. Early scores by Aisling King (1:1) gave the team confidence and there were encamped in the Lucan half for must of the first half. Further scores by Shauna Hinkson (2:0), Ruth Dargan (1:0), Emma O'Lone (1:0) and Laura Skehan (0:1) gave the team 5:2 to 1:1 lead at half time.

However, this is an excellent Lucan team who had already beaten Brigids 3 times during the season including in the Feile. Playing with the aid of the breeze they came back very strongly in the second half and it was the St Brigids defense that had most work. Brigids failed to score in the second half and fought valiantly to limit the Lucan scores. Lucan scored 2:2 in the second half but the St. Brigids girls held out to win the match by a score of 5:2 to 3:3.

Congratulations to all the girls on the panel. They hard work paid off and they thoroughly deserved their victory.
