U21 Footballers Edged Out by Ballymun Kickhams in Champo Semi-Final - Mon, 14 Jan 2008

A stunning goal midway through the second half for Ballymun swung this semi-final in their favour. It was very much nip and tug through-out the game but the goal edged Ballymun ahead heading the closing quarter. In a low scoring encounter Mark Cahill opened the scoring after 8 minutes with a pointed free. Ballymun levelled up matters off the boot of Ted Furman 18 minutes in. Two more pointed frees nearing the end of the half left Ballymun leading 0-3 to 0-1 at the break.

Ballymun opened the second half as they finished the first with a superb long distance point from Philip McMahon. Brigids soon hit a purple patch notching up two points off the boot of Mick Cussen but were unable to press home their advantage with Ballymun defending stoutly. The last fifteen minutes were frantic with the goal proving the desicive factor in the game. Hard Luck to the lads & a big thank you to the management team of Paeder Andrews & Cormac Kelly.
