Finnegan kicked seven points from play to help the Senior 2 Footballers retain their Senior status for the coming year. St Judes who had only won one league game all year coming into this encounter but you wouldn't have thought that half way through the second half. The were oozing confidence as they piled forward trying to cut the five point deficit which Brigids had built up at half time after playing against a gale. Finnegan opened his account within the five minutes firing over from the right wing. He soon followed this up with a neatly taken point from the 20 yard line. Kenny Kilmurray put Brigids 0-4 ahead with two more points before Judes regsitered their first score. Judes looked very poor and were lucky to trail 0-8 to 0-3 at the break. Judes were a different team after the break scoring the first four points of the game to close the deficit to one point but Brigids put in a late surge with points from Craig Kilmurray and Mick Gahan before Finnegan closed out the game with a brilliantly chipped 45' and a gem of a point from the left wing. |
