Junior A Footballers Maintain Good Start to Year defeating St Brendan's - Wed, 9 Apr 2008

The Junior A Footballers continued their fine start to the season with a league win over St Brendan's in Grangegorman. Playing against a stiff breeze and up the hill in the first half, St Brendan's opened their account within seconds of the throw-in but this would be their only score in the opening twenty minutes. A hat-trick of goals for Brigids in this period paved the way for a fine league win. Keith Morris scoring a brilliant goal. Morris threw two dummies and powered the ball into the far corner to leave the lads with a 3-7 to 0-4 lead at the break.

Within two minutes of the restart Donal Fahy & Keith Morris combined for another 1-2 and both were duly subsituted as their days work was done. Their replacements soon got in on the act with Brian Murphy and Alan English firing in 2-2. Maurice Sweeney also showed well when he replaced veteran Ian Craven as did Fergal Delaney when he replaced Paul Brady. A fine win for the lads and hopefully they can continue their upward curve.
