Junior A Footballers Maintain Good Start to Year defeating Park Rangers - Mon, 21 Apr 2008

St Brigids 4-9 Park Rangers 0-6

The Junior A Footballers continued their fine start to the season defeating Park Rangers in Russell Pk last Friday evening. Playing against a gale and up the hill in the first half, Park Rangers opened the scoring. The lads were very slow to get going and the scores were level 0-2 to 0-2 after twenty minutes. Several position changes were made at this point and they were immediate with Maurice Sweeney cutting through the Park Rangers defence to feed Donal Fahy who fired to the net. Mark McDaid added three more point to leave six between the teams at the break.

After playing well their potential in the opening half, the lads got a roasting at half time and fully understood that they were playing for their Championship places. The lads really upped the pace out scoring Pk Rangers 3-4 to 0-4 in the second playing into the wind. Mark McDaid sealed the game added 2-1 in the opening ten minutes. Will Tyrell also added a goal in his come back.
