Junior A Footballers Advance in Champo defeating St Johns in Preliminary Rd - Wed, 7 May 2008

St Brigids 1-12 Ballinteer St Johns 0-4

Despite the absence of several key players, the Junior A Footballers progressed to the 1st Round of the Championship where they will face St Finian's of Newcastle on Sunday at 3pm away. Gerry Byrne turned in a man of the match performance at corner back repelling all comers to his corner. Brian Kelly proved an ample replacement for normal centre back John Dunning. Kelly venturing forward for a fine point in the 2nd half. Mossie Sweeney turned in another fine performance from midfield as he makes the transition from Minor football to Junior. Veteran Ian Craven led the line win with both wing forwads Mark KcDaid & Conor Hayes scoring two points. Keith Morris bagged a goal as well. Well done to the lads and keep up the good form.
