A penalty inside the final ten minutes of this bruising Championship encounter proved the decisive factor. Crokes started very well and led 0-3 to 0-0 after ten minutes. The lads struggled to get to grips with Crokes off the ball running. Crokes led 0-7 to 0-2 with 20 minutes gone but late scores from Conor Clavin & Mick Cousin left four points between the sides at the break (0-8 to 0-4).

Brigids were a different side after the restart. Subs Vinnie Bruen & Brian McIntyre had an immediate effect as Crokes came under severe pressure. A Mick Cousin point soon had Brigids tails up and Enda Kane added another fine point before Dan Gordon found the back of the net after some fine interplay between McIntyre and Mulgrew. Mulgrew added a point immediately and the lads led 1-6 to 0-7 with fifteen minutes remaining. Crokes hit back with another point but Paul Brady soon restored the hosts lead. Crokes were pressing forward as the clock ticked down. They cut through the Brigids defence and their goal bound shoot was adjudged to be foot blocked. Crokes scored the penalty and led by a point. Brigids pushed forward for the equaliser and up stepped Clavin with a monster 45'. With the game entering the dying minutes, Crokes fired over three quick free points to seal their win. Hard Luck to the lads and hopefully you can reproduce your 2nd half performance in the league for the rest of the season.
