Junior A Footballers Just Edged Out by Castleknock in League Clash - Mon, 23 May 2011

Despite being heavily depleted with injuries our Junior A Footballers were every match for Castleknock in their League encounter. Playing against a strong gale in the opening half, the lads work rate really showed as they gave Castleknock no time on the ball. It was very much nip and tuck in the opening 15 minutes. They sides were level 0-2 to 0-2. With the gale blowing even stronger, Castleknock tagged on 3 points but the lads never gave up. Eoin O'Sullivan scoring a great goal from 20 yards out to level the game up going into the break.

The game was very tight in the 2nd half with both sides cancelling each other out. Only one point was scored in the first 20 minutes.. Castleknock began to use their bench to good effect as they led by 3 points entering the final minutes. Only for a superb tackle on Paidi Kelly in the last few minutes; the game would have finished in a draw. Kelly was through on goal but only to be tackled as he was about to shoot. A pointed free soon followed but the clock just went against the lads.
