Photos from Inter Footballers Trip to Cahir Co Tipperary
Last weekend our Intermediate footballers travelled to the south Tipperary town of Cahir to celebrate their hugely successful 2010 Championship winning season and to get the 2011 campaign off to the best possible start. Hosted by the Cahir House Hotel, the lads took in the historical sights of Cahir Castle which was followed by a visit to the O'Brien hurl-making factory on Saturday afternoon. O Brien's, one of Tipperary's most famous hurl-makers, is a family run business in operation since the 1930s and the lads were fortunate enough to be shown first-hand, the skilled art of making and preparing the perfect hurl!
On Saturday night, Tipperary's renowned musical quartet, "Johnny B and the Boogie Band" played a specially arranged gig for the team while on Sunday the legendary GAA commentator Effin Eddie Moroney welcomed the lads to his home in the Glen of Aherlow where he discussed, in his own unique way, the current state of GAA affairs in the Premier County!
A special thanks must go to Cahir GAA club and in particular to the O'Brien family for their help in organising an incredible weekend! We look forward to returning their warm welcome later this year!
