Junior A Footballers Long Wait Most Definitely Worth It with Decisive 2nd Half Surge
St Brigids 1-14 Man O War 1-10
The Question lingering on many club people's minds travelling to Parnell's ground tonight was "have the lads been waiting too long to play this final & have they got the hunger". This question was answered in the second half of this game when the lads hit 1-7 without reply to put Man O War's challenge to rest.
The brilliant Dave O'Connor broke Man O'War's resistance when he surged clear of his marker to fire to the net and leave Brigids three points clear. They never looked back & fired over a further five points to secure the long awaited Championship Glory. It was a very sweet victory considering that had just missed out on Promotion to Intermediate Football by the narrowest of margin's.
More photos and a match report to follow later today. As I left the club tonight or early this morning shall I say, Kevin Bonfil & Fred Lynam were banging out the tunes to everyone's delight.
