Name: James Campbell Star Sign: Aries Family: 2 brothers Schools/Colleges Attended: St. Brigids Blanchardstown B.N.S., Castleknock Community College & Dublin Business School. Club Teams: Inter footballers & Junior Hurlers. Managers: Noel Cassidy, Alan Greene, Damo Butler & Cambo Senior (football) - Tim O Leary & Oliver Cussen (hurling). Favourite Position: Full back (never get to play there though), and corner back in hurling. Achievements: Junior A Football Champions 2010, Junior B Football Champoins 2007, Division 5 Champions 2007, Stacey Cup 2007, U-14 Feile Champions 2002, Barney McGarrell Cup 2009. Hobbies: Sport, Music, Books & talking sh**e. What is your earliest sporting memory? Down beating Dublin in the 1994 All-Ireland Final. What was been your most memorable moment (On the field) in Brigids colours? Winning the Junior A Championship or the Barney McGarrell Cup (having played for Ronnie McGarrell I know that cup means a lot to him and Brigids). Winning the Feile and scoring 1-05 in the Final. What was been your most memorable moment (Off the field) in Brigids colours? The Inter team trips to Kilbaha, Dromahair, Clonakilty and anytime Fred Lynam sings 'Back Home in Derry'. Worst moment in Brigids colours? Missing a peno against Peregines in a Champo Qtr Final. We went on to lose that day. Favourite Music: Stone Roses, U2, Oasis and Traditional Irish music. Favourite Film: Casino. Last book you read: L.A Confidential by James McIlroy. Who has been the biggest influence on your career? Guinness (and not a good one either). Favourite Food: Chipper. Person/People I most admire: Parents, Kieran McGeeney, Lance Armstrong & Muhammed Ali. If you won the Euro Millions, what would you do? Travel the world and buy a pub in Clonakilty, West Cork. Buy Chris Lynam a new set of Brigids jerseys, and give a few bob to the club of course. Your ambition with the club is to? Win a Junior hurling Championship and progress with the Inter footballers. If you were to organise a session down the club which 3 celebrities would you invite? Christy Moore, Brian Cowen (serious Porter) & Paidi O Shea. Your dream desert island companions? Miranda Kerr & Tiffani Amber Thiessen. Who is your favourite character in the club? Joe O Shea. Paddy Bonfil a close second. What is your favourite aspect of the club? The banter, sessions in the bar the brilliant facilities we have. What would you like to see change in the club? Continue to improve the facilites and a set of floodlights installed in Beech Park for the Beards training. What is the funniest quote you have heard in St. Brigids? On the Inter team trip last year, The Beard asked Willa Corbett if he'd like to tog out for the friendly v Clonakilty. Willa informed us he was retired, until Joe Cassidy popped up with 'retired to stud'. Pet Hates: When David Campbell refs the circle game in training. Who is your favourite Sunday Game pundit? Cyril Farrell. If you could have been a spectator at one sporting event in history what would it be? The Rumble in the Jungle or Dublin winning Sam in 95. Who is the best player you have played with or trained with? Graham Norton. Who is the best trainer on your team? Cian O Sullivan in the football and Stephen Moore in hurling. Your favourite ever GAA score? Maurice Fitzgeralds goal v Armagh in the 2000 All Ireland semi final. What is your favourite GAA ground? Parnell Park. Who are most likely to win Dublin's next Senior All-Ireland? Hopefully we can do the Double this year. |
