Another local club derby with Noel Cassidy's Junior B Footballers prevailing over Voilet Muldoon's Junior A Footballers. A large crowd turned out for a very tight clash. Both sides had peroids of dominance with some fine football on show. Mick McGovern & Seamus Lynam scoring the highlight of the points in the opening half. Dave O Connor & Willa Corbett were constant threats for the Junior B Footballers while Brian Fogarty & Lorcan McCarthy were always dangerous when fed with quality ball.

Midfield was a real battle ground with players finding it hard to catch any clean ball. The scrap for the breaking ball was very intense. Both defences were very tight with Chris Dorney turning in a man of the match performance for the Junior A's while Seamus Smith & Brian Smith also showing well. The Junior B Footballers edged ahead by two points entering the final minutes but the Junior A Footballers fought back with a point from Stephen Kelly and a draw looked certain but the Junior B Footballer's defence stood strong to win by the one points. Well done to both sides & you never know, their path's might cross again later in the year for the chase for promotion
