Junior B Footballers Produce Fine 2nd Half Display to Fend off Garda Challenge - Mon, 22 May 2006

St Brigids 2-11 Garda 3-3

Well done to Junior B Footballers who produced a fine second half display to defeat a very hard hitting Garda side. Played in Westmanstown, conditions didn't favour the lads flowing football but helped the slower Garda side. Trailing by one point at the break, the lads upped their game in the second half to fend off the challenge of the Garda. Corner forward's Paul Whitty & Dave O'Connor contributed 1-6 between them. Subsitute Maurice Curran put the game to bed with a speculative long range shot. Keeper Veg Clavin was enable to stop Curran's effort. Kevin Bonfil & Alan Hughes got through a mountain of work around the middle while the defence really tightens up in the second half only conceding 1-1. Well done to the lads.
