Junior B Footballers Progress to League Semi-Final defeating St Finian's - Mon, 10 Sep 2007

St Brigids 6-10 St Finian's 0-7

The Junior B Footballers produced a fine performance to win their League Quarter-Final versus St Finian's of Newcastle in Russell Pk. Keith Morris may only have played 40 minutes but he still notched up 2-5. The fast movement of the ball from defence caused St Finian's all sorts of problems. Paul "Butcher" Brady marshalled the full back line with his usual trade mark catches.

Leading by 2-6 to 0-1 at the break, the game was virtually over but with 21 lads togged out, their is plenty of compeition for places so anyone who got on was trying to prove a point. Brian Murphy came on for Dec Barron & found the back of the net twice while Keith English also found the net. Sub Any Boyle lofted over a brilliant point from long range. The lads now turn their attention to the League Semi-Final with a place in Division 9 at stake.
