2nd Half Surge Sends Senior Footballers into Champo-Final vs Vincents - Fri, 19 Oct 2007

St Brigids 1-11 St Judes 0-7

After trailing by one point at half time to St Judes, St Brigids Senior Footballers delayed their return to the field for the second half; whatever happened in the dressing-room definitely done the trick. Barry Cahill soon fired over the levelling point & Rory Gallagher edged St Brigids with a point ahead when a goal appeared on. Lorcan McCarthy arrived on the scene & provided a beautiful ball to Paddy Andrews who fed Kevin Bonner who fired to the net. Andrews was proving a real threat to Judes with his ball winning ability. Further scores edged the lads further ahead & Judes registered their only score of the 2nd half in the 28th minute.

The first half was a very scrappy affair with Donnelly from Judes opening their account with a free from the left. Rory Gallagher soon levelled matters with a pointed free. Judes then edged ahead 0-3 to 0-1 but where taking big hits in the process which definitely showed in the 2nd half. Paddy Andrews then scored a beauty of a point from the left wing. Rory Gallagher added another free to leave the sides on 0-3 a peice with 20 minutes on the clock. Kevin Bonner then edged Brigids ahead but Judes finished the stronger with 3 pointed frees.

Well done to the lads & Best of Luck in the Final on Monday October 28th at 8pm. It will be a double for the club as well with the Minor contesting their Championship Final vs Na Fianna at 6.15pm.
