Junior A Footballers Short Listed for Powerade's Search for a GAA Team - Sun, 18 Nov 2007

Our Junior A Footballers are among a total of ten to be selected on the Leinster shortlist for Powerade's search for the GAA team that best represents "The Heart of Irish Sport".

Up to three of these will go forward to a national shortlist to find the team that will star in the energy drinks advertising and marketing campaigns throughout 2008.

The regional winners will be announced at the end of November, with the overall winning team chosen in the run up to Christmas.

"Powerade's aim is to help a club achieve its goals for 2008, said Aengus King of Powerade announcing the shortlists today. The winning team will have a group of mentors placed at their disposal in areas of training, nutrition and motivation. They will also be filmed for a series of TV ads that will run throughout next year and put the winning club in the public eye as never before."

"The response from the GAA clubs has been great with almost 200 clubs putting themselves forward from every corner of the country."
