St Brigids 1-6 Kilmacud Crokes 0-9

A Warren Finnegan goal (above) ten minutes from time put our Senior 2 Footballers one point ahead but Kilmacud Crokes came back strongly to lead by one point entering injury but a foul on Andy Farrell gave Warren Finnegan the perfect chance to level up matters. Six minutes of injury time insued but no winner could be found on a bitterly cold night for football.

The first half was an even affair with Crokes opening the scoring but Brigids soon went ahead with a point from Seamus Bonner and a Warren Finnegan 45'. Jason Ward was beginning to catch some great ball and was giving the forward a great platform to win the match but both back lines were proving hard to break down. Chris Dorney, Enda Lynch & Colin Freeman played well as a unit in the full back line. Cillin "tights" McCann drove the half back line forward which included 2007 Minor Championship Winners Naill Davey & Gavin Kane. Crokes finished the half the stronger to lead 0-4 to 0-3 at the break & started the second half the better to lead 0-7 to 0-5.

Dave O'Connor & Andy Farrell came on for the remaining 15 minutes and made big impacts. O'Connor created the Finnegan goal with his offensive running style. The lads began to take Crokes on and they weren't comfortable. A draw was a fair result and the lads are looking forward to the replay.
