Senior 2 Footballers Produce Commanding Display to Defeat Crokes in Champo - Thu, 3 Sep 2009

Goals at the start of both halves from Daire Plunkett and Dave O'Connor(above) gave the Senior 2 Footballers a good 4/5 point cushion through out this encounter. Crokes could never match the pace & power of Brigids. Cathal Doyle had a brilliant game capping a fine performance with a point. Anto Briody chipped in with 3 points but Dave O'Connor was the star of the show. O'Connor scoring 1-5.

His goal was a majestic effort off his effort. Daire Plunkett doing all the work for O'Connor's goal. Dave even scored a point off his left.Cormac Kelly dominated the midfield sector with some fine catches & surging runs. Brilliant pressure on the ball was the key to the victory as the defence led by Felim Condrum never gave Crokes any time on the ball. The lads now look forward to the Quarter-Finals with their season shaping up well.
