Inter 2 Footballers Start Season in Positive Fashion defeating St Marys - Wed, 20 Feb 2008

St Brigids 2-23 St Marys Saggart 1-03

St Brigids Intermediate footballers were in cruise control as they sailed through their first round Joy Cup game with a 2-23 to 1-03 defeat of St Mary's in the Phoenix Park. Willa Corrbett landed two goals for the Castleknock men, pouncing in the 15th and 45th minutes, while Paul Witty also contributed handsomely to give St Brigids a resounding 1-13 to 0-2 half-time cushion.

Cian O?Sullivan, Mark Kehir and Stephen Moore were on target in the second half as the Russell Park men continued to pull clear, while substitute Kevin O'Donovan compounded St Mary's woes with two well taken points.

St Brigids: Tomas Connolly, Tony Hughes, Seamus Smith, Joe Toomey, Cian O'Sullivan (0-1), Allan Hughes, Stephen Moore (0-1), Kevin Bonfil, Dessie Carolan (0-1), Paddy McAvenue (0-1), Joe Cassidy (0-3), Mark Kehir (0-2), Paul Witty (0-6), James Campbell, Willa Corrbett (2-06).

Subs: Kevin O'Donovan (0-2) for James Campbell, Niall Ryan for Seamus Smith, Eoin O'Sullivan for Paddy McAvenue, Paul Greaney for Dessie Carolan, Fergal Delaney for Tony Hughes.
