A dubious referring decision with ten minutes left on the clock determined the outcome of this game. Leading 0-4 to 0-3, full back Chris Dorney went down to pick up the ball but was pushed to the ground but the referee never blew for a free and the ball was finished to the net by John Noonan. Brigids were livid with the decision and lost a player as a result. This took the gloss off a fine performance as the opened brightly through Seamus Bonner. They led 0-3 to 0-2 at the break.

In a low scoring affair, a goal was always going to determine the outcome so it was disappointing it came it this fashion. The lads must now get their heads back up as they face St Annes this Saturday in Russell Pk. It will be a tough encounter with St Annes returning to AFL 2 after a tough year in AFL 1.
