Junior A Footballers Continue Good Form defeating St Finian's of Newcastle - Wed, 14 May 2008

St Brigids 4-12 St Finian's Newcastle 1-4

Fresh from their Preliminary Championship win over Ballinteer, the Junior A Footballers travelled to Rathcoole for a tricky Championship game. The game was won in the first half when the lads held Finian's to one point from play. Goals from Neil Plunkett and Mark McDaid gave the lads breathing space as they played up the hill. Donal Fahy, Keith Morris and Neil Plunkett kept the score board ticking over.

Leading 2-5 to 0-1 at the break, the lads knew Finian's would fight back in the opening 15 minutes of the half. Finian's threw everything at Brigids and found the back of the net but Brigids soon upped their game to score 2-4 in a ten minute period. Donal Fahy & Keith Morris finding the back of the net along with two points from Ian Craven and Maurice Sweeney.

Well done to the lads on another win and their attentions turn to next Sunday where they face Clontarf in the Cup with the luxury of qualification already guaranteed.
