DOMINANT St Brigids qualified for the last 16 of the Evening Herald Dublin SFC last night when they recorded an easy victory over a disappointing Erin's Isle at Parnell Park. The Finglas outfit opened the scoring through Niall Crossan in the first minute before Brigid's popped over two frees by Mark Cahill and Ken Darcy.

Crossan then saw his shot come back off the upright after some neat work at the edge of the square. In the resulting Brigid's counter attack Dublin senior Kevin Bonner carried the ball menacingly toward the Isle goal before setting up Gavin McIntyre to bury home the game's first goal. To their credit Isles didn't drop their heads and, after the introduction of Dulbin U21 Luke Sweetnam, Crossan made amends for his earlier miss by grabbing a goal on 18 minutes to see his side trail by a point, 1-4 to 1-3.

It was to be their final score of the half as Brigid's finished the half on top to extend their lead to seven points by the break, 2-7 to 1-3. Their second goal came in the 27th minute when Paddy Andrews lobbed Graham Bedford in the Isle's goal. Two quick scores after the restart, from Mark Cahill and Paddy Andrews, put the Russell Park outfit firmly in the driving seat and it was a case of seeing out the game from then on. They continued to pop over the scores and could possibly have won by more.
