Our Minor Footballers never wilted under the pressure in Silver Pk. They went toe to toe with Championship favourites Kilmacud and came away with a fully deserved victory. The Minor never let Crokes settle on the ball and the constant pressure play reapped dividends. Philip McEntee and Kevin Twomey manned the engine room in midfield and put in some shift. Willie Madden commanded his area well and ventured out the field on numerous occasions.

The full back line was immense with Jack Kelly & Donal O'Meara to the fore. James McDermott drove the side forward from centre back. Philip Ryan, Colm Carr & Niall O'Dea were constant threats. Crokes even double teamed Ryan after he scored the opening 2 points. The sides were level at the break and Crokes were flustered. They never expected such a feirce game.

The 2nd half started brilliant as Dublin Minor Captain Colm Carr found the back of the net with an exceptional finish. Crokes began to pile forward and narrowed the gap to 1 point entering the final 15 minutes but young Campbell and Brennan scored 2 great points to make it a 3 point game. Crokes fought back with 2 scores in the 5 minutes of injury time but our lads were not to be denied. A brilliant result for the lads. Tremendous work has been done with this team over the past 3 years.
