Senior 2 Footballers defeat Ballymun Kickhams to Progress to Champo Semi-Finals - Fri, 25 Sep 2009

Our Senior 2 footballers gave an exhibition in point scoring as they cruised past the challenge of a gallant Ballymun side in the Intermediate Championship quarter-final in Blakestown on Saturday evening. With the Brigids defence in command throughout, it was left to the forwards to turn ample possession into scores and following a slow start, they duly obliged.

Three first half points each from Dave O'Connor and Daire Plunkett, which were followed by an inspirational Feidlim Condron score and two Kenny Kilmurray ''45's gave the Blanchardstown outfit a commanding 0-08 to 0-03 half time advantage. The second half followed a similar pattern with Collie Freeman, Cathal Doyle and Enda Lynch dominant once again in defence. Meanwhile, at the other end Gavin Kane (0-01), Paul Clerkin (0-01) and Cormac Kelly (0-01) kept the score board ticking over for Mark Byrne's men.

Well done to the lads, who now face a strong St Pats (P) who defeated Round Towers (L) convincingly in their quarter final on Saturday. The semi-final will be played in O'Toole Park on Saturday 3rd of October at 3.30pm.
