Junior A Footballers Edged Out By Plunketts Despite Great Start to Game - Mon, 26 Apr 2010

Despite leading 0-4 to 0-0 after ten minutes, our Junior A Footballers just couldn't hold. The concession of a goal midway through both halves proved very costly. The first goal kicked Plunketts into gear and they only trailed 0-8 to 1-3 despite playing into the breeze in the first half. Paul Brady & Mick Cussen were the chief scorers in the opening half with Cussen deadly accurate from frees.

Plunketts soon reduced their deficit back to one point within minutes of the restart. It was nip and tuck right through the 2nd. Seamus McCarthy(above) was causing serious damage when the ball made its way up that far but Plunketts were very strong around the middle. Plunketts edged ahead with minutes remaining but McCarthy had the sides level again. The game looked destined for extra time but Plunketts grabbed the winner with less than 60 seconds remaining.
