Senior Footballers Advance in Champo With Decisive Display Against St Annes - Mon, 30 Aug 2010

Paddy Andrews was the chief scorer as St Brigids advanced to the fourth round of the Evening Herald Dublin SFC with victory over St Annes at Newcastle on Saturday evening. Andrews scored five points from play as the Russell Park side eased through to round 4 after a slow start. The game looked destined to be a low scoring affair with St Brigids leading 0-2 to 0-1 with 20 minutes played but points from Gavin Kane, Graham Norton, Kevin Bonner, and two from Andrews gave St Brigids a 0-7 to 0-2 half-time lead.

The second half followed a similiar pattern as Andrews soon stretched his sides lead with the opening point of the half as St Brigids upped the tempo and St Annes struggling to gain a foothold in the game.
