Spirited U21 Hurlers just edged out by DIT in Champo Quarter-Final - Mon, 13 Mar 2006

St Brigids 0-5 DIT 0-6

Hard Luck to the U21 Hurlers who fought bravely against DIT, but were unable to find the leveller in very blustery conditions. St Brigids opened spritely with Conor Morris & David Smith splitting the posts to put St Brigids 0-2 to 0-0. DIT responded and levelled up the game with two pointed frees. Bren McInerney edged St Brigids ahead with a fine individual effort from the right wing. Paddy McAvinue added a free from distance to leave St Brigids with a two point lead at the break.

DIT opened the second half full of energy and soon levelled up the game with two quick fire points. St Brigids were finding it hard to gain a foothold in midfield but several missed opportunities were to be rued when DIT added two further points to leave two between the sides. Paddy McAvinue added another free to cut the deficit to one but couldn't find that elusive score.
