Senior Hurlers Made to Fight Hard for Win against Dublin North East in Champo - Sun, 31 Aug 2008

St Brigids 1-15 Dublin North East 0-17

15 minutes into the Championship game, things looked bleak for our Senior Hurlers as they lost Sean Sullivan & Keith Morris to injury but their replacements Jamie Winters & Stephen Callinan up to the mark. Minor Jamie Winters stood out as he didn't give Dublin Senior Panelist Paul Garbutt a sniff at all. Stephen Callinan chipped in with two points and was a constant threat with his pace.

Trailing 0-10 to 0-6 at the break, the lads were confident of turning the game around as they played down the hill with the aid of a stiff breeze. They were level within two minutes of the restart as Willie Tyrell goaled and Paddy Avenue converted a free from distance. Paddy in total scored 0-8 from placed balls. It was a great win for the lads and they now turn their attention to their final group game versus Ballyboden next Saturday at 6pm in Rathcoole.
