St Brigids 1-10 St Vincents 0-4

The U21 Hurlers match sharpness proved the decisive factor in their win over St Vincents. Having played O'Tooles twice in the last round, the lads were well up to the tempo while it was St Vincents first game. Right from the off, the lads dominated affairs with Aan Brady superb in the first half from centre forward. Captain Tim O'Donnell marshalled his defence superbly as St Vincents only scored once from play through-out the entire game. Joe Jordan, Sean Keegan & Cillin McCann got forward from defence at all times possible.

Dan Brady opened the scoring for St Brigids with two minutes on the clock. St Vincents responded within the tenth minutes but that was their only score of the half as the St Brigids pressure play was too much for them. Diarmuid Connolly was chasing Ciaran Kellet's shadow for most of the game. Conor Morris was covering some amount of ground in the middle. Jamie Winters & Aodhan McEnerney added further scores as the lads began to get a run on Vincents. Pat Rohan(above) was soon on the score sheet with a brilliant point from the left wing.

Mick Cousin at centre back was picking out his forwards with ease. Dan Brady soon added another fantastic point from distance as the lads confidence began to show. Two more scores from McEnernery & O'Meara left the lads 0-7 to 0-1 up at the break.

The lads started off as they finished the first half with Brady pointing after McEnernery broke down a high ball. McEnernery soon found the net when he doubled on a high ball. Vincents replied with a free but the game was going away from them at this point.Well done to the lads on a great win and everyone is looking forward to the North Championship Final in two weeks time. The winners of this game will play the South Championship Winners in the final.
