Inter Hurlers Convincingly beat Faughs in League Clash in Tymon North - Wed, 8 Apr 2009

St Brigids 5-7 Faughs 0-7

The intermediate hurlers under the stewardship of Ciaran "The Rocket" O'Reilly had a good league win away to Faughs on Saturday. Playing wind a strong wind in the first half Brigids led 2-1 to no score at half time and had a high tally of wides. Brendan Roche scoring a fine individual goal & Cormac O'Meara soon followed up to rattle the net for the Russell Park men.

The Brigids backlined throughout the game did not give an inch and Willie Bourke was very assured in goal. Séan Brady the youngest man on the pitch was outstanding throughout and drove ball after ball into the Brigids forward line.

After Half time Brendan Roche goaled from a free to further the lead. Stephen Callinan soon goaled and Cormac O'Meara also finished the game with another goal to secure the points for the Northsiders. There were fine displays from Pat Rohan & Bernard Duggan in midfield. Stephen Callinan's pace was an ongoing problem for Faughs and he drove forward at every opportunity. Séamus Lynam in the half forward line fielded some lovely ball in the second half following well placed puck outs from Willie Bourke.
