Junior B Hurlers Back in Champo Contention after defeating Erin's Isle & St Kevin's - Mon, 14 May 2007

After suffering two narrow defeats at the hands of St Finbarr's & Civil Service, the Junior B Hurlers have bounced back well with Championship win's against Erin's Isle & St Kevins. They lads are now beginning to find their feet after stepping up in grade. Both games containing 15 goals in all. The lads were in some what of a goal drought but this is a distant memory as they powered five past Erin's Isle to win 5-6 to 4-5. Neil Plunkett contributing 2 goals with Tim O'Leary finding the net as well. It was a win that was earned through great defence in the last 20 minutes of the game as Erin's Isle introduced several impact subs.

Sunday's game was a must win encounter against St Kevin's. The lads didn't disappoint as they won 4-8 to 2-11. St Kevin's never lay down and the game was in the melting pot right until the end. Daniel O'Donnell, son of our Hurling Section's Sponsor Pat O'Donnell found the back of the net to build a half time lead of 3-5 to 2-3. Tim O'Leary also added the two goals pouncing on indecisive defending. It was a real backs against the wall job in the second half but the lads did it. The lads are now right in the mix entering the final round of games in 2 weeks.
